Our Museum

The African Art Museum of Maryland (AAMM),  a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit institution, founded in 1980 moved to our new location in the Long Reach Village Center, 8775 Cloudleap Court, Suite 112, Columbia, MD 21045, right as the COVID-19 pandemic started in March.  We had to close our doors as soon as the last unpacked box was delivered.

We are happy to say that we re-opened on our 40th anniversary, on October 8, 2020.  Our business hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m – 4 p.m.  We are closed Sunday and Tuesday.

Our space is small, so in accordance to state guidelines regarding COVID-19, the number of guests at one time is limited to 15 people at a time.  Masks are desired for entry into the museum. Take a look at a snippet of some of the items in our museum in the slide show to the right.
